We hired Lars Hansen to do a major renovation on our home. The job involved building an addition and a front porch, and renovating the kitchen, hall bathroom and other living spaces. It was a large and very complex job that we had been contemplating for a few years. It was critical that we hire someone we trusted and felt comfortable working with through a long project.
At our initial meeting, we reviewed the areas that needed work and discussed the space we wanted to add. Lars was great at helping us see the possibilities and focus on the goals of the renovation. During the project, Lars and his crew kept everything clean and safe, so that our family was able to live comfortably in the house. He was excellent at communicating any challenges that arose and offering solutions that fit with our vision and kept everything on track.
We were very happy with the quality and professionalism of Lars’ crew, including his subcontractors. It was obvious they had all worked with Lars and one another for a long time. That made for a smooth work environment and efficient schedule.
In the end, Lars translated our ideas and goals into a home that we truly adore. The spaces are roomy, bright and comfortable. The cabinets and materials were all expertly installed. The custom cabinetry is beautifully designed, built, and finished. His vision, design and top-notch craftsmanship transformed our home into a very special place.

We have had the pleasure of hiring Lars Hansen for three different projects on our former home in McLean, and now recently on our home in Falls Church.
Lars’ first project on our McLean home was to build a large deck designed to fully appreciate our beautiful back yard. Our family used that deck year-round, as Lars designed easy access to it from inside the family room and from the back yard.
For our second project, Lars redesigned our kitchen, opening it up to the family room and adding a large window seat facing our back yard. But the most amazing part of our new kitchen was a beautiful walnut island that Lars designed and built. This island was a beautiful piece of furniture that fit our family’s style, perfectly fit the kitchen, and provided exceptional functionality.
The third project required Lars to redesign access to a large, enclosed screen patio on the side of our house. In the adjoining living room, he added another double door, placing the door perfectly so as to not adversely affect the use of the living room. That patio became another beautiful and quiet space for our family to use and enjoy. All three of these projects for our McLean home were delivered on time, with minimal disruption by a great crew, and well-priced.
Now, in our home in Falls Church, we yet again have turned to Lars for his expertise to refine our master bathroom, to build a deck, and to design storage. We are excited to work with Lars again as we know that he is excellent at his craft and has wonderful ideas. Our continued repeat business with Lars Hansen Construction is our best review of Lars and his work.

We have hired Lars Hansen for two construction projects at our home in McLean, and would hire him again in a heartbeat.
